SHILLONG: The residents of Goraline are running out of patience due to snail pace of the construction work of less than half a kilometer road between Nongrimmaw and Lumsohra near Umpling Road (popularly known as Goraline Road).
This link road between Laitumkhrah, Nongrim Hills, Umpling and beyond was lying in a decrepit condition over the last 8-10 months and after waiting for long, the construction work of the road finally began this year.
However, the hardship of the residents is far from over as the construction is still going on and there is no indication as to when the road will be completed.
One of the residents of Goralane said, “When the construction work began we were happy but till now our sufferings are far from over.”
She said that the road is in a bad shape since several months and when enquired from the labourers as to when the construction work will be over, the reply was that they had no idea.
Several residents said that some vehicles also fell down
