WILLIAMNAGAR: The District Planning Office, East Garo Hills, organised a District-level Children’s Science Congress on the theme ‘Science, technology and innovation for a clean, green and healthy nation’ at DRDA Hall in Williamnagar on Tuesday.
With the words of former President APJ Abdul Kalam, “Science is a beautiful gift of God to humanity, we must not distort it”, the chief guest on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aloysius Ch Marak, spoke at length dwelling on the theme of the day and urged the students to develop scientific temper for a brighter future.
District School Education Officer (DSEO), Illa G. Momin, encouraged the students saying that this science congress is a platform for them to learn about science and technology and urged the teachers to motivate their students to participate in such kind of programmes.
The Research Officer of the District Planning Office, Krundsen M Sangma informed that the students selected in this science congress will be sent to Shillong to participate in the State-Level Science Congress.
