Prez to inaugurate annual convention of CIC today

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate the annual convention of transparency watchdog Central Information Commission (CIC) here on Friday, according to a statement issued by the Personnel Ministry. The 13th annual convention on ‘Data privacy and Right to Information, Amendment in the RTI Act and Implementation of the RTI Act’ is aimed at recommending measures for improving the transparency and accountability with a view to improve governance, it said on Thursday. The convention shall deliberate on three specific subjects like data privacy and Right to Information, amendment in the RTI Act and implementation of the RTI Act. A welcome speech will be delivered by Chief Information Commissioner R K Mathur. (PTI)
