SHILLONG: Some members of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) are not happy with the leadership and the sub-committee constituted to look into the party’s smooth functioning.
Talking to media persons here on Monday, PDF MLA and Cabinet Minister Hamlet Dohling said though some members are not happy with the party leadership, “it is too early to judge whether the leadership is weak or strong”.
Dohling said PDF is a new party and “there is bound to be misunderstandings among members but we are keen to see that the party grows”.
The sub-committee met recently but the meeting was inconclusive and members, including Dohling, will have another round of discussion before sending a report to the party’s central working committee.
Dohling also said the party would contest all the 29 seats of the KHADC in next year’s polls. But PDF is yet to discuss about the Lok Sabha election, which is also in 2019.
The PDF rift became wider after five MDCs recently supported the HS Shylla-led ruling alliance leaving the opposition with only two members.
