SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union on Tuesday asked Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD (roads) Prestone Tynsong to abandon the two-lane Nongstoin-Wahkaji-Phlangdiloin-Ranikor road project citing the intention of uranium mining.
A delegation of KSU, West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills met Tynsong in this regard.
The KSU wanted the government to improve the existing single lane roads.
It also demanded blacktopping and renovation of several roads in West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills districts.
