Construction of IT Park begins

SHILLONG: Construction of the IT Park in New Shillong Township has finally begun, after a delay of several years.
Informing this on Tuesday, IT Minister Hamlet Dohling said the government recently signed an agreement with a private company following which the work began a few days back.
Stating that the construction work will be completed in two years, Dohling said the estimated cost of the full project is over Rs 500 crore, but the government will move ahead with the project one step at a time.
He also stated that the government will ensure round the clock power and internet supply to the IT Park, besides setting up a road network for easy movement to and from the IT Park.
