Lok Adalat
The Member Secretary, Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, Shillong informed that the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, Shillong is organising the Mega Lok Adalat on all subject matters on October 27 in the High Court of Meghalaya, District Courts, District Council Courts, Sub-Divisional Courts, Deputy Commissioner’s Office etc. Any person or party receiving the Lok Adalat NOTICE can appear personally before the Lok Adalat benches for settlement of their dispute amicably.
Dry days
The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat and the District Magistrate of West Jaintia Hills district informed the general public that October 18 and 19 are declared as dry days on account of Maha Namavi and Dussehra (Vijaya Dashami). All bonded warehouse, IMFL retailers, bars canteen and outstills, should remain closed on the above mentioned dates.
Office bearers
The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association, Mairang Sub-Divisional Unit,West Khasi Hills held its general meeting recently and elected its office bearers and executive members for the term 2018- 2021. The members elected are president Donboklang Wahlang , vice-president Marbel Warjri , general secretary Steward Jyrwa among others.
Cleaning drive
The Dorbar Shnong of Umbuda will conduct a cleaning drive on October 20 at 8:30 am.The Dorbar Shnong urged its residents to come out and participate in the cleaning drive.
Wishes
A dancer, Alex Rozario Kharkongor from Pynthorumkhrah has been selected for Nachena Saara India-2 and will perform in the semi-final in Delhi on October 21. He will leave Shillong on October 18. The All Meghalaya Dancer’s Association (AMDA) has sent its wishes to the dancer.
Prayer meet
Jesus Calls Ministry center invites people to the Bless Meghalaya Prayer Meeting to be held at Khasi National Dorbar Hall, Mawkhar from 10 am to 12 am (1st session) and 1 pm-3 pm (2 nd session) on October 19. Speakers will be Krom M. Umlong and Brother Twentyfive Makhroh.
Holidays declared
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh has declared local holidays on October 25 and November 8 on account of the 28th death anniversary of Captain W A Sangma’ and ‘100 Drums Wangala’ respectively. Accordingly, all government offices, courts and education institutions in the district will remain closed on those days.
