SHILLONG: The 78th convocation of Computer Training and Language Training Departments took place at the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Quinton Road Auditorium.
During the function, the centre distributed about 564 certificates to the meritorious students, scholarship to 12 students as well as MOS 77 students. Computers were awarded to four students — Nishu Kaur, Niangaiti Kurbah, Arwanbok Nongsiej and Rijanai Nongdhar. The students who topped the academics were Computer-Beginner: Tinku Kumar Sahani, Computer-Intermediate: Hope Firmly Lyngdoh, Computer – Accounting: Sudip Laskar, DTP (Part I): Lakhmie Bareh.
The chief operation officer of Meghalaya State Skill Development Society, Mendonlang Pariat, monks of the Ramakrishna order and other dignitaries were present. Pariat explained that the synergy of various aspects of life can enable one to achieve excellence. Challenges are to be taken up and adequately met for the sake of learning new things. Strategies and progress path are to be determined for the purpose.
Swami Divyaswarup-anandaji Maharaj, Centre in-charge Ramakrishna Mission Vivek-ananda Cultural Centre, in his welcome address echoed the voice of Swami Vivekananda and said ‘Be and Make’ should be the motto and explained that those who have achieved should impart knowledge to others.
