Shillong IT professionals take part in e-interaction with PM

SHILLONG: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Wednesday interacted with over 2000  IT electronic manufacturing professionals via video conferencing from New Delhi including the IT officials from Shillong

The interaction of the Prime Minister was broadcast through video conferencing and it was witnessed by many IT professionals here in the National Informatic Centre, Shillong.

The focus of the event was on volunteering efforts and initiatives taken by IT Corporate and IT professionals in the social sector. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the future of the country was in its  technology.

He said that it is important to connect with individuals in the society and share the ideas, knowledge for further growth of it.

While expressing hope that India will get its due place in the world by surpassing all challenges it is facing today, he said, the success of any Government initiatives lies in public involvement and it is essential for the nation’s growth.
Modi was interacting with IT and electronic manufacturing professionals and key industry leaders from across the country in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister launched the “Main Nahin Hum” Portal and App on the occasion. The portal which works on the theme “Self for Society” will enable IT professionals and organisations to bring together their efforts towards social causes, and service to society, on one platform.

Meanwhile, NIC Director, T Dkhar said that this programme was being heard in all the districts of Meghalaya.

An IT professional Kaushik Debnath said that the interactive session looked promising and hoped that it would connect to the grassroots.
