Shillong Lajong look to fan support in first I-League match
SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong will kick-start their I-League campaign on home soil against rivals Aizawl FC on at the JN Stadium in the city on Thursday at 5:00pm. At home, the Reds have maintained an unbeaten run against the Mizoram side having won twice and drawn once. For the current season, Lajong will field players from the academy hailing only from the North Eastern States. Players from Meghalaya include Kynsailang Khongsit, Allen Lyngdoh Nongbri, Aiban Dohling, Habymmutshuh Nongrum, Kenstar Kharshong, Hardycliff Nongbri, Phrangki Buam, Freestar Kharbangar, Samuel Lyngdoh Kynshi and Sheen Sohktung. Tickets for the game are available at The Mobile Centre Police Bazaar and SSA counter in Polo Ground. Tickets will be priced at Rs 500 for VIP, Rs 100, Rs 70, Rs 50 and Rs 30. The Club calls out all passionate football fans to come out and show their support for the team.

11th IIM Shillong Golf Cup starts today
SHILLONG: The 11th edition of the IIM Shillong Golf Cup will be held from October 27 to 28 with an aim to touch new heights with the expected participation of international golfers including Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and student golfers from across the country. IIM Shillong is the only top management institute in the country to host a sporting event as unique as the Golf Cup. The game is organised on a stroke play format with players ranked on the basis of finishing the 18-hole course in the least number of strokes played along with Stableford calculations.

SSA confirms football finals
SHILLONG: The Shillong Sports Association has informed that the finals of the different Divisions of the current year’s Football League Tournament have been fixed and that all matches will be played at Ground No I. In the Second Division finals, Mawkhar SC will take on Lawsohtun SC at 2:00pm on Saturday. The First Division finals will be played between Laban SC and Nongrim Hills SC at 3:30pm on Tuesday and the Shillong Premier League finals will be played between Langsning FC and Shillong Lajong FC at 3:15pm on November 2.
