Ri Bhoi shines in Miss Tourism Queen Worldwide 2018

NONGPOH: In a proud moment for the state of Meghalaya, a Ri Bhoi girl from Meghalaya, Miss Eve Syiemlieh has brought laurels not just to the district or the state but to the country as a whole by bagging the 2nd Runners-Up title in the Miss Tourism Queen Worldwide 2018 which was held at Pasig City in Philippines on Sunday.

On her arrival at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati here on Tuesday, members of the Ri Bhoi Youth Federation (RBYF), Nongpoh Circle led by Joseph Syngkli along with her family members and village Durbar of Quinine received her with a warm welcome with bouquets and other gifts.

Residing at Quinine village in Ri Bhoi district, Miss Syiemlieh, a former Miss India Tourism winner, completed her schooling from Sacred Heart Girls’ School, Mawlai and finished her graduation from Women’s College, Shillong. Along with her another contestant, Ms Sookini Sutnga from Jaintia Hills had also participated in the pageant held at the Manila, Pasig City of Philippines.

The beauty pageant which was also competing by other beauty queens from around the world was bagged by Vy Hyunh from Vietnam as Miss Tourism Queen Worldwide 2018, Nan Htet Htet Lin from Myanmar bagged the title Miss Tourism Global Queen, Jongkopl Chokinplub from Thailand bagged the title Miss Tourism Queen Global Queen while the 1st Runners-Up goes to Miss Kamille Alyssa Pliarca Quinola from the Philippines, the 2nd Runners-Up to Miss Eve Syiemlieh who is representing from North East India, the 3rd Runners-Up was bagged by Miss Natasha Selkrig from Australia and the 4th Runner Up was bagged by Miss Lam Yin Ting Lam from Malaysia.
