4 NDFB (S) ultras held with arms

GUWAHATI: Troops of Red Horns Division and Baksa Police in Assam carried out a two-day-long operation from October 30 to 31 to track down alleged NDFB(S) overground workers in Baksa and Chirang district linked with possession movement of warlike stores. During this period, relentless search and multiple mobile check posts were laid by the army and police to nab these suspected individuals. During a mobile check on Tuesday, three individuals were apprehended who were moving in a white Ford Figo along with a .303 rifle, nine live rounds and four mobile phones. On further questioning it was learnt through one of the individuals that another accomplice in Chirang district is also in possession of a AK-56. On October 31, the team further proceeded to Chirang and cordoned off the suspected individual’s house. The search of his house led to recovery of one Chinese AK-56, a US Made M2 Carbine and apprehension of one more individual of Bengtol village.
