Assam rural polls to be completed by December 15

Guwahati: The Assam State Election Commission on Thursday said it would complete the panchayat polls in the state by December 15. The decision was taken keeping in view the constitutional mandate and orders of the Gauhati High Court in this regard, a release said here. The state election commission also held discussions with the Education Department and requested the authorities to hold school and college examinations after December 15 for smooth conduct of the rural polls.
