BSF apprehends fake currency dealer in Dhubri

GUWAHATI: Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended one fake currency  racketeer along with 65 thousand  fake Indian Currency notes (FICN) on Friday, from bordering areas of  Ghewmari in Dhubri district of Assam.

Based on specific information provided by BSF intelligence branch Dhubri, along with Police party of Dhubri police station, the BSF troops launched an operation in Dhubri town under and apprehended one person along with suspected Rs. 65,000 FICN  having denomination of Rs 2000/- and Rs. 500/- ( 27 Nos x 2000 & 11 Nos x 500).

Apprehended FICN racketeer has been identified as  Jahirul Parmanik, (43), S/o  Sajaruddin Parmanik, R/o Kalairalga Village  Part -I, Sukhchar police station, South Salmara district. He has been handed over to Dhubri police for further legal action.

Besides, BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier seized eight cattle heads having approximate value of Rs. 58,837/- and 70 bottles of Phensedyle cough syrup worth  to Rs. 9,818  on intervening night of 01/02 November.
