SHILLONG/TURA: In pursuance of Central Vigilance Commission’s guidelines, vigilance awareness week is being observed in NEC from October 29 to November 3 on the theme ‘Eradicate Corruption – Build a New India’.
A slew of programmes have been rolled out to mark the celebration of vigilance awareness week starting from pledge taking to essay writing, cartoon making and poster competition.
Meanwhile, an awareness gram sabha programme against corruption was organised during the vigilance awareness week at Tungruchur Village in Mahendraganj, South West Garo Hills.
The programme was organised by the representatives of JNV during which speakers sensitised the villagers about anti corruption measures by involving villagers in the discussion. Causes of corruption, measures and role of ACB and CVC were also discussed.
