SHILLONG: 180 recruits of the Indian Army participated in the passing out parade held at Harish Parade Ground of 58 Gorkha Training Centre on Saturday.
A ceremonial parade was presided by the chief guest and reviewing officer of the parade, Lt Gen DS Ahuja, AVSM, GO 101 Area. In his address, the General Officer congratulated the recruits on successful completion of their rigorous training at the centre. He also stressed upon the importance of valour, tradition and ethos of Indian Army.
During the occasion, recruit Upendra Gurung was awarded the Overall Best Recruit and was presented with the Manekshaw Khukri. The parents of the soldiers were also honoured with the Gaurav Padak.
