SHILLONG: The police will follow up heinous crimes against militant leaders who come over ground.
Recently, the surrender of HNLC general secretary Cherishstarfield Thangkhiew generated interest with the Congress questioning the nature of surrender of the rebel leader.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, East Khasi Hills SP Davis Marak said police are committed to following up the heinous crimes committed by the surrendered militants.
As far as Thangkhiew is concerned, the police chief said three heinous crimes are being followed up by the police. “We have not closed the cases against the former HNLC leader, there are three heinous cases against him,” the police chief said.
