GUWAHATI: Numaligarh Refinery Ltd has leveraged digital technologies in areas of finance and recruitments to achieve greater transparency.
Informing the emphasis NRL has put on digitalisation, S K Barua, the managing director of the refinery said that due to leveraging of digital technologies, the PSU has achieved more than 99 per cent in e-payments and e-receipts.
“Further, digitalisation has been adopted in areas such as recruitments which have enhanced transparency,” Barua said at the main function of the Vigilance Awareness Week held in the refinery recently.
Moreover, he informed that the NRL delegated powers to committees and not to individuals due to which discretionary power of individuals in NRL has been greatly reduced.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, Navajyoti Gogoi, deputy inspector general (range), CBI Guwahati, highlighted the need to improvise systems and procedures by leveraging digital technologies and also informed about the various acts and enforcement agencies.
It may be mentioned that Vigilance Awareness Weekwas observed at NRL in line with the directive from Central Vigilance Commission with the theme ‘Eradicate Corruption – Build a New India’.
Activities such as display of banners, distribution of pamphlets on vigilance activities, workshop on policies / procedures of the organisation, slogan and essay writing competitions among NRL and CISF employees and their spouses on issues relating to vigilance were organized. Similar awareness programmes were organised in nearby schools and colleges.
