Eight Cong leaders resign, support Lapang

NONGPOH: Eight senior members of the Congress in Jyntru area resigned on Monday that came as a setback to the party before the district council and the Lok Sabha elections.
The members “unanimously decided to quit the party” to extend support to veteran political leader DD Lapang who resigned from the Congress in June.
The Congress leaders who resigned are president F Aibor Syngkli, vice president Felick Syngkli, general secretary Steven Nongrum, assistant secretary Resto Timung, finance secretary Thopel Bongrung, treasurer Lam Bongrung and two other members.
