Major fire engulfs city warehouse

SHILLONG: A major fire broke out in Laban on Thursday night.
The fire gutted a tent house godown belonging to Arun Malakar in a residential area opposite to St John’s Church. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Police are examining whether bursting of crackers in the area has anything to do with the fire incident.
The cause of the fire is not known as the godown was burnt to ashes and there was no eyewitness.
Three fire tenders and two 108 ambulances were also dispatched to the spot.
No injury or casualty was reported.
