SHILLONG: The resumption of the health scheme, which was stopped over the issue of high rates of premium, will take more time.
An official source said that though a fresh tender was called, nothing has been finalised.
Health Minister A L Hek recently said the Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS-IV) will be rolled out by the end of December.
The MHIS (III) ended on September 25 this year and following this there was a break in the scheme.
Critics said the government should have ensured that the patients do not suffer during the period of break and alternate arrangements should have been made.
In the past, when the Congress led government was in power, the scheme had a break of six months.
