SHILLONG: Health Minister A.L. Hek on Monday launched the 108 Citizen App and dedicated it to the citizens of the state in a function held at GVK EMRI, Lawmali in the city.
The minister lauded the GVK EMRI, Meghalaya and congratulated them in making the access to emergency services better.
The 108 GVK EMRI Meghalaya App will provide immediate reinforcement to people in need of emergency service and will reduce the response time. With the help of this App, emergencies related to medical, police and fire will be available 24 X 7 at absolutely free of cost and in just one’s finger tip in Android environment.
The objective of such technical advancement is to reduce the response time for each and every emergency case and to get the valuable feedback for the service from the users in real time to share their experience with the GVK EMRI which will be evaluated to provide the best service delivery.
The 108 GVK EMRI Meghalaya App can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
The App is easy to install and can be used in any smart phone. It can access users’ real time GPS location.
EMTs felicitated
Meanwhile, the minister also felicitated the EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) who have completed their Advance Post Graduate Diploma in Emergency Care (APGDEC).
Hek, while congratulating the graduates, said the contribution of the EMTs and pilots, towards saving lives is remarkable.
The minister further added that the organisation has reduced the burden of government by creating job opportunities in the state and also in other parts of the country and abroad.
The APGDEC students received the certificates, who completed 2-year course conducted by GVK EMRI at Hyderabad Campus.
The course developed by School of Medicine Stanford University and GVK EMRI is affiliated to Osmania University. The EMTs were sponsored by the State Government and GVK EMRI for the course.
