Two killed, 2 injured in separate accidents
On November 7 at 8.30 pm, one motorcycle (number not known) knocked down Amrabati Koch (45) at Ichakuri village, South West Garo Hills. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Ampati. However, she succumbed to her injuries the next day.
On October 20 around 9.30 pm, one truck (AS-09AC-5367) dashed against a Maruti car (ML-04B-5470) driven by Phresson Nongtdu at Byndihati (East Jaintia Hils). As a result, the driver and one occupant of the Maruti car died at the spot, while two other occupants sustained injuries. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.

Assault
Ajit Barman lodged a complaint that on November 11 at about 10.30 am, three persons, Sum Sangma, Sengban Marak and Dibel Sangma assaulted one Vijay Barman (23) at Umnowe village (RB). As a result, the victim sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to a hospital at Guwahati.

Cattle thieves held
Gajeng M Sangma, Nokma of Indikgre village (SWGH) lodged a complaint that on November 8 around 2 am, residents of the village apprehended two alleged cattle lifters, Niksrang T Sangma and Nikjeng Ch Marak along with the two heads of cattle.

Fire in carbide plant
On November 8 at about 1.30 pm, a fire broke out in the 1st Plant of Carbide Ferro Silicon of RNB Company at MIDC, Umiam (Ri Bhoi) belonging to B.L Bajaj, when the transformer inside the plant burst. However, no loss of human life was reported. Loss of property is being estimated and the matter is under enquiry.

Gold, cash stolen
Tulsi Chettri (53) lodged a complaint that November 4 around 9 am, one Dipak Lama and another person visited her in her quarter at New Nongstoinm West Khasi Hills to pray for her recovery as she was suffering from unknown illness and gave her to drink water laced with rice, flowers and others following which she felt weak. Again, on November 5 & 6,, they went to her quarter, asked from her gold weighing around seven tolas, silver weighing 1½ tolas and cash Rs. 17,660 and took them while she was unconscious.
