Deficit teachers press for full implementation of 5th pay commission

SHILLONG: The Khasi Jaintia Deficit School Teachers on  Saturday  elected B Khongjirem as its new president besides it also vowed to continue its fight for full implementation of  5th Pay Commission for deficit teachers.

Speaking to media persons after the meeting, outgoing KJDSTA president,  ED Nongsiang  said that  the meeting also decided to extend financial support to the  Greater Phulbari retired deficit school teachers who are contesting a case in the court  for pension.

The Association also elected new office bearers

“We have also demanded that the 5th Pay Commission should be fully implemented for deficit teachers in Meghalaya,” Nongsiang said adding the Association will submit its views and recommendations on the service rules for the deficit teachers by February next year.
