Ring leader of gang behind trader’s abduction surrenders

TURA: The ring leader of the criminals gang that was behind the abduction of a ginger trader from Assam near Rongsak village of East Garo Hills has surrendered to police on Saturday.
The criminal, Munna D Marak (24yrs), of Rongsak bazaar came to Rongsak police camp and gave himself up.
The surrender comes after two of his accomplices were arrested by police for their involvement in the incident.
The criminal leader revealed to police that he along with Anseng T Sangma and pelington Ch Marak were the ones who started the conspiracy to abduct the ginger trader.
Munna along with arrested criminal Anseng were the ones who chose the target (victim) and also the spot where they waylaid the vehicle and abducted the trader,Tapos Dey, early this week.
He confessed that he was also present went the abduction took place but on seeing the police and the public search parties, he along with Salsrang and Tengson fled towards Rongakgre village but soon got separated in the melee.
