Police make third arrest in activists’ assault case

SHILLONG: East Jaintia Hills police have made the third arrest in connection with the brutal attack on CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing and her colleague Amita Sangma.
Police said they arrested one Hamlen Rymbai (39) of Wapungskur village on Friday.
Two persons, Elphon Dkhar and Meklison Siangshai, were earlier arrested during a raid in the Kongong area.
Later, a woman was detained but was released after questioning due to lack of evidence.
