OBC body formed
A general meeting of joint committee of the Other Backward Classes was convened on November 14 in the premises of Shillong, Darpan, Polo Bazaar, to discuss the agenda and formation of an association in Shillong. The committee also resolved to christen the association as Meghalaya Other Backward Classes Association Shillong.

New acting president
The All India Garo Union, Tikrikilla regional unit has appointed Milton D Sangma as acting president after Jimi D Sangma, who held the post won the MLA election from the constituency in the recent polls. Milton Sangma will now function as the acting president for the rest of the remaining term.

Procession
The Eid Milad Un Nabi celebration committee, Shillong will be taking out a peaceful procession on the occasion of Eid Milad Un Nabi (Birth anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad) on November 21 from Mohammadia Al Hussainee Masjid (Khan Masjid), Barapathar Point at 9 am via Barik Point and through Civil Hospital. It will end at Madina Masjid, Jhalupara. The celebration of the birth anniversary will be held on the same day at Mohammadia Al Hussainee Masjid premises from 5 pm after Magrib Namaz onwards, Quran Khwani besides Naat Khwani, Taqreer and Milad Sharif will be part of the celebration programme
