Workshop on Garo literature, song and dance to benefit youths in Tura

TURA: The Assistant Curator, District Museum, West Garo Hills, Tura has informed that the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Dimapur under the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Arts and Culture Department will be organizing a 10 day “Community Learning Programme” from 3rd of December to 14th of December at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Tura from 11 AM onwards.

 The Workshop would be divided into 3 segments- Garo Folklore/ literature, Garo Music (Dama) and Garo Dance Forms. The Workshop aims to help the younger generation or any interested individual, in acquiring skills and knowledge of traditional crafts, arts and history of the tribe. Experts from the region would be imparting an intensive session to the participants so that traditional skills are not lost.

 Registration is free and anyone interested in the event can register themselves at District Museum, Tura in the premises of the District Library at Ringre on any working day.
