SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya has deferred to December 6 the hearing on the plea of assaulted victim Amita Sangma to institute a CBI inquiry into the politico-police-coal mafia nexus.
The court took up the petition on Tuesday and the investigation officer submitted the status report of the case.
More reports related to the incident will be presented to the court in the next date of hearing. The additional deputy commissioner is also expected to complete his probe into the incident before December 6.
Earlier, during the first hearing, the court had asked the state government to bear the medical expenditure of the victims, besides providing adequate security to them.
