It is challenge for MDA to find a consensus poll candidate : Conrad

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister and the National People’s Party (NPP) leader , Conrad Sangma  has asserted that it is challenge for the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) coalition to elect a common candidate for the next Lok Sabha elections.

Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, Conrad Sangma said that the all political parties in the alliance were discussing the matter within their respective parties and no final decision regarding a consensus had been arrived at till now.

Asserting that the identity of every political party needs to be respected as some them  have their own base,he admitted that it was a challenge to arrive at a consensus as far as common candidate is concerned

“In few weeks time, we will know  the real situation,” Chief Minister added
