SHILLONG: Many residents of Kapasipara in South Garo Hills have petitioned the Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma demanding immediate stopping of the tender notice for the construction of polytechnic at Gasuapara.
In a memorandum submitted to the chief minister, the residents said that the tender notified by the Executive Engineer (Building) to construct the polytechnic at Gasuapara has shocked the people.
The residents said that the polytechnic should be constructed at Kapasipara as per the original plan and the move to shift the polytechnic has raised many questions.
The residents apart from asking the chief minister to revoke the tender have also called for an inquiry into the matter.
