First Khasi Film Festival from Dec 12

SHILLONG: The Khasi Film Festival will be held for the first time in the state from December 12 and 13 at St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School, Marbisu.

Addressing the Press, Wealthy Bornfield Sunn said the festival aims to promote films made by the Khasi and Jaintia film industry which is at a nascent stage wherein movie buffs will get a treat of their favourite films at the festival.

Films such as Dak Bangla, Papa, Haban Tony, Thong Iong Nga will be played on December 12. On December 13, U Tirot, Iung U Shlek, Onaatah and Hep will be screened.

The festival is held to commemorate the silver jubilee celebration of Lum Jingshai Choir, Marbisu. The tickets available are Rs 500 (Platinum), Rs 50 (Gold) and Rs 20 (Silver).
