SHILLONG: A one-and-half-year old baby girl was drowned in a pond near her residence in Mahendraganj, South West Garo Hills on Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened around 2 pm. The baby is identified as Ruksha Kahn of Karipara village under Mahendraganj.
She was removed to CHC Mahendraganj where the attending MO declared her brought dead. Necessary formalities were observed and the matter is under enquiry.
