DCC-banks meeting held in Tura

TURA: West Garo Hills, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, Ram Singh chaired the District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting on Thursday at DRDA Conference Hall, Tura in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner and Project Director, DRDA, Tura A M Sangma and Bank Officials of all Banks of the West Garo Hills District.

During the meeting, the Chairman had suggested the Bank officials to give priority for opening of bank accounts, expand their branch in the blocks in order to facilitate and provide better service to the people of the area. Further, with regard to the performance of the agriculture sector, he urged the bank officials to focus on this sector since the state has more population in this sector.

It may be mentioned that the DCC bank meeting is held quarterly in order to review the annual budget presentation, targets and achievements of the priority sector lending like Kisan Credit Card, Term loans, etc., in their respective districts including various schemes of the line departments like agriculture, horticulture, industry based schemes like PMEGP, KVIV, KVIC, among others.
