SHILLONG: Kynsai War, the person whom Agnes Kharshiing accused of threatening her, has finally come out with a clarification refuting her accusations.
In a statement issued here, War said, “Neither did I threaten her nor the informers. In July 2018, she filed an FIR against me at Mawryngkneng police station alleging that I assaulted some persons and other allegations without substantiating her claims. This is still pending in the court.”
Further, he demanded that the authorities concerned thoroughly interrogate Kharshiing and her friends and alleged her connections with coal miners and pointed to alleged suspicions that she might gain something.
War informed that he had discussions with legal advisors over the allegations made by Kharshiing against him. He further questioned Kharshiing for remaining silent at the time when the alleged threat was made. With the police making attempts to arrest him, War said the government and the police department should not arrest persons without proper evidence. However, he maintained that he has known Hamlen, the accused in the assault of Kharshiing and Amita Sangma, for over 15 years. He went on to add that it is a ploy of politicians whom he did not support in the council elections and maintained that the truth will soon come out about why the police want to arrest him in the assault case.
