Body found; police suspect murder
On December 29 around 10.55 pm, Karnet Pajuh was found dead in his residence at Ladthalaboh, Jowai West Jaintia Hills. It is suspected that the deceased was murdered.
Missing man found dead in WKH
Phrangsngi Puwein of Photjalei village, West Khasi Hills lodged an FIR that on December 25 his father Klori Nongbah left the house to attend a Christmas service at Wahlyngdoh village and did not return home. However, on December 30, his body recovered from near Maweit Road.
Bodies recovered
Md. Mojir Uddin lodged a complaint that on December 24, body of his elder brother Md. Motahhir Ali (31) was recovered from a Pathar quarry in East Jaintia Hills.
On December 31 around 7 pm, body of Ristar Mawrie (45) was recovered from a jungle at Umphyrnai village, East Khasi Hills. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was handed over to the relatives.
One apprehended for possessing drug
Deepak Thapa of 58 GTC, Happy Valley, Shillong lodged a complaint that on January 1, Lurmangkara Wahlang was apprehended with six paper wrapping in one empty cigarette packet containing suspected heroin weighing around 0.09 grams.
House gutted
On December 31 around 6 pm, house belonging to Joginder Gupta of Fancy Valley, Tura West Garo Hills was gutted down. The cause of the fire is said to be short circuit.
Robbery in two places
On December 29 at 3 pm, miscreants stole gold ornaments valued around Rs. 80,000 and cash Rs. 8,000 from the house of Rohul Sharma at Goraline, Nongrimmaw, Laitumkhrah.
On December 29 at 4.30 pm, miscreants broke into the house of Eberista Marbaniang at Mawrusyiar village, West Khasi Hills and stole cash Rs. 30,000 and gold ornaments valued around Rs. 1,52,000.
Goons abuse restaurant owner
Syrpai Dkhar of Nongkrem, Warbah in East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that on December 29 at 4 pm, four persons went to his restaurant, ordered food, manhandled and also indecently abused him. Later, the miscreants left the restaurant without paying the bill.
Duped
P Joyati Rao lodged a complaint that on December 28 around 9.30 am, miscreants fraudulently withdrew Rs. 40,000 from her account.
Assault
On December 27 at about 10 pm, Kitborlang Dan along with his accomplices assaulted Pynkhlainbor Sohtun at Lumjingsuk, Block-A, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Bethany Hospital, Shillong.
