Seng Samla felicitates meritorious students

MAWKYRWAT: The Seng Samla Shnong Wahsiej, South West Khasi Hills, had on December 31, felicitated the local meritorious students with the Excellence Award, 2018 for bringing laurels to the village by doing well in different examinations.
The students who were present with the Excellence Award included Aibandondor Lyngdoh (1st division in SSLC Examination), Ibakmenlang Lyngdoh Marshilong (1st division in HSSLC Examination, Arts), Lasukdakmen Wanniang (1st division in HSSLC Examination, Science), Maiandashisha Wanniang (1st class in B.Sc Bio-Technology), Bandakerlin Lyngdoh (1st Class 4th Rank in MA Economics), Robertkeystone Lyngdoh (1st class in Master Tourism), Lamjingshai Thongni (Bachelor of Theology from Nichols Roy Bible College, Sohryngkham) and Bahaman Lyngkhoi who completed the Diploma in Sports Coaching (Archery) from Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, Patiala.
Besides, the Seng Samla Shnong also conferred the award to Resmander Wanniang for winning the marathon ‘Run for Unity 2018’ which was held in Mawkyrwat recently and also to James E. Wanniang, team leader of Rani Motors, Mawkyrwat.
On the same day, the Seng Samla Shnong Wahsiej also organised a penalty shootout in which youths, both boys and girls, participated.
Speaking as chief guest at the programme, president of Seng Samla Shnong Wahsiej Artistar Marwein called upon the youths to be responsible by working together with the Seng Samla.
