TURA: South West Garo Hills district will start registration for the fourth phase of Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS IV) at the DMHO’s office at Ampati from January 14. This was informed at the District Level Workshop on MHIS IV held at Ampati Circuit House on Friday, which was attended by the officials of the district administration, district health officials, teams from State Nodal Agency and Reliance General Insurance Co. Ltd as well as the stakeholders.
The government has raised the health insurance cover to Rs 5 lakh to provide quality healthcare to all households in the State barring State and Central Government employees. The State Nodal Agency signed a contract with Reliance General Insurance Co.Ltd in December last for its implementation in convergence with Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. The scheme can be utilised in all empanelled hospitals in and outside the state. During the day-long workshop, Jopskhem Lyngwa from the State Nodal Agency gave a presentation on MHIS IV and shared all the necessary information relating to MHIS IV and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. He informed that the State will be undertaking registration drive for four months beginning from January where each beneficiary has to pay a registration fee of Rs. 30.
In South West Garo Hills the registration will begin from January 14 at the DMHO’s office which will act as a Static Registration Centre for the district. However since the overall process of registration is online there will be some select locations in the district which would be informed in due course of time.
