SHILLONG: The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) has demanded fresh advertisement to be floated by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) for the post consultant.
At the same time, the KHNAM has maintained that preference should be given to local youth from the state rather than an outsider for the post.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the Additional Director of SDMA, state youth wing president of KHNAM, Thomas Passah said he filed an RTI which revealed that SDMA office received only one application, Surajit Bordoloi for the post of consultant.
He added that the SDMA has notified for the post of consultant on September 17, 2013. However, the RTI reply stated that Bordoloi had submitted his application with the SDMA office on September 30, 2012 which is one year before the notification of the advertisement.
Stating that such a decision will create a bad precedence, he demanded that the service of Bordoloi should be terminated and called for a fresh advertisement.
