SHILLONG: The State Election Department is still awaiting the necessary orders from the Election Commission of India (ECI) for holding by-poll to Selsella Assembly constituency.
Chief Electoral Officer, FR Kharkongor said the vacant seat has to be filled up before April and they are still awaiting the orders from the ECI for holding the Bye elections.
Both the probable candidates of NPP and Congress have started their campaigning while the BJP is not sure if it would field a candidate there.
It may be mentioned that the Congress is likely to field June Eliana R Marak, the widow of Clement Marak, as its candidate wile NPP is likely to field Ferlin C. A. Sangma for the upcoming by-poll in Selsella
