Mumbai: The Rupee on Wednesday remained weak for the third day as it slid by 20 paise to 71.24 against the US Dollar on brisk demand for US Dollars by bankers and importers, dealers at Forex Market said.
The local unit opened up marginally by two paise to 71.02. Later, it tumbled down nearly 20 paise to finish at 71.24 from its last close. High oscillation was seen during the day as the Indian currency registered day high and low at 71.26 and 70.91 respectively.
Firm dollar against other world currencies kept the local unit weak, they added. (UNI)
