Cricket League: Lumbatngen and Slog Warriors win

SHILLONG: Lumbatngen and Slog Warriors appeared as winners in the Shillong Cricket League on Friday. Lumbatngen won the toss and elected to field first. Madanrting scored 96/10in 18.5 overs where Andy Kharkhongor scored 20 runs in 28 balls and Arbor Wankhar scored 16 runs in 21 balls. Lumbatngen’s bowlers Pinky Ghosh took 4 wickets and L. K Khomanhring took three wickets. In reply Lumbatngen scored 100/4 in 13.3 overs where batsmen Joydeepan Ghosh scored 40 runs in 28 balls and Md. Kitabudin scored 20 runs in 12 balls. Madanrting’s bowlers Arbor and Rohit took 2 wickets each. Meanwhile, Slog Warriors won by 6 wickets in the second match against Sporting CC. Toss won by Sporting CC elected to bat first scoring upto 92/10 in 14.5 overs where Sunimal Hajong scored 25 runs in 18 balls while Bishal Hajong scored 24 runs in 30 balls. Slog Warriors’ Rajesh Chettri took 5 wickets and Lokesh Thurah took 3 wickets. In reply, Slog Warriors scored 93/4 in 12.2 overs with batsmen Rajesh Chettri scoring 21 runs in 17 balls and Rajesh Thurah scoring 44 runs in 10 balls.  Sporting CC’s bowlers Som Pandey took 3 wickets.
