SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong will head into their 6th home game of the Hero I-League 2018/19 season, taking on debutants, Real Kashmir FC on at the JN Stadium in Shillong at 5 pm on Saturday.
The tickets for the match will be available at the SSA Counter in Polo Ground from 10 am onwards.
Shillong Lajong has not been able to pick up any points since their last encounter at home on November 23 against Minerva Punjab where they collected one point as the match ended 2-2.
Previously, Indian Arrows had a successful outing here where they won by three goals to nil. This was also Lajong’s only home game where they failed to find the back of the net.
The match on Saturday will be Lajong’s last home game as they will travel to Punjab and Kolkata thereafter to take on Minerva Punjab and East Bengal respectively. Hence it is imperative that the team bounces back to victory after their string of losses and take the much-needed confidence when they get back on the road. They need to improve on converting the chances into goals as well as be more dynamic at the back.
Coach Alison Kharsyntiew talked about the team’s mentality and said, “Right now, I’m dealing with the young players. So, for me, every time my job is to encourage them so that they do well in the future because these players are the future of Shillong Lajong, of North East, of the national team.”
