SHILLONG: Leader of the Opposition Mukul Sangma has clarified that he is not in the race for ticket to contest from Tura parliamentary constituency.
“I am happy with what I am doing,” the former chief minister said.
When asked about several senior leaders applying for ticket, Sangma said the party has a “galaxy of leaders” and it is a “good sign” that they have shown interest in contesting the Lok Sabha polls.
Both Zenith Sangma and Deborah Marak have applied for ticket from Tura.
The chief of Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress, Richard Mrong Marak, has also applied for ticket. Talking about the Congress’s prospects in Tura, Sangma said they have to wait and watch but reposed faith in the electorate’s wisdom.
