Sec 144 imposed in SWKH
Ahead of the public hearing for the Nongstoin-Wahkaji-Ranikor two-lane road scheduled to be held on January 29 at Mawpat (Umdohlun), South West Khasi Hills District, the District Magistrate, Isawanda Laloo imposed Section 144 CrPC prohibiting of carrying of lethal weapons and dangerous instruments. “This order will comes into force with immediate effect till the public hearing is over,” Laloo said.

Unclaimed body
The Superintendent of Police, North Garo Hills, Resubelpara appeals to all concerned to claim a male body from Tura Civil Hospital morgue. The said person was reportedly found unconscious at a train compartment coach No NE 01409 from train no 55820 UP at Mendipathar Railway station on January 14. He was admitted to Resubelpara CHC and was later referred to Civil Hospital Tura on January 18 for further treatment where he passed away on January 21.

Archdiocese Day
A meeting was held on January 22 at Mawiong, Diengpasoh road to discuss the preparation for Archdiocese Day. Headman of Mawiong, Richard Kharumnuid stressed on getting better road connectivity, water, electricity for the Archdiocese Day.  Health Minister AL Hek, Mawrynkneng MLA David Nongrum, Sohryngkham MDC Pyniaid Syiem, Sordar Shnong, David Umdor were present at the meeting.
