SHILLONG: Illegal coal mines at Gambegre and Marakpara in West Garo Hills were sealed by the District Administration.
T R Marak, Executive Magistrate lodged a complaint that acting on a tip off about the existence of the illegal rat-hole coal mines and extraction of coal at Gambegre and Marakpara villages on January 20, the complainant rushed to the spot and sealed off the coal mines to prevent extraction of coal.
