SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills SP, Davis Marak said that the police had summoned 10  people while investigating into the  recent petrol bomb hurling incident at BJP office not because they were KSU members but because they had been arrested earlier for a similar incident.

Talking to media persons here on Tuesday,  Marak said that summoning people was a part of the investigation and the people were summoned since they were arrested earlier for same cases of petrol bomb hurling and later they turned out to be KSU members.

“We have summoned them since the modus operandi in this incident seems to be similar from the incidents which happened last year,” he said while adding that the suspects have been called for questioning.

Stating that ten people were summoned, he added that more people would be summoned. He said police had gathered some CCTV footage of the incident as well as some description of the miscreants who threw the bomb, from the witnesses. Police is trying to match the description made by eye witnesses  with the suspects

Earlier, ten KSU members were summoned  by IO of the case, M N Sangma for questioning at the Sadar Police station.

It may be mentioned that unidentified miscreants had hurled petrol bombs at the BJP state headquarter here in Shillong soon after the Lok Sabha passed the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill.
