Tura college organises District Youth Parliament

TURA: A District Youth Parliament was organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS), Durama College Tura at the college premises on January 28 under the National Youth Parliament, 2019 organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

The purpose of the youth parliament was to allow the youth from between the ages of 18 to 25 years a platform to view their opinions on the topics- India sets Global Narratives on Terrorism, India sets Global Narratives on Economic Offenders, India sets Global Narratives on Climate Change, Khelo India, A gateway for Budding Sportspersons and Best time for India’s sportspersons to make a mark.

The programme which was organized both for West Garo Hills and South Garo Hills districts was inaugurated by the Principal of the host college, J K Marak. A total of 19 participants from various educational institutions from the two districts participated in the youth parliament.

The three winners in merit will now take part in the State Youth Parliament (SYP) to be held on February 7 at NEHU, Shillong.
