NONGSTOIN: Mawshynrut MLA Gigur Myrthong on Tuesday inaugurated the Ayush model village and herbal garden cum health camp and exhibition of medicinal plants by local traditional healers at Riangdo CHC in West Khasi Hills.
Myrthong said lauded the Health Department’s initiative to set up the garden, “which will benefit the rural populace”.
“The garden will not only benefit farmers but also generate employment for youths. Traditional medication is very popular among people living in remote areas,” he added.
The programme is executed under Ayush Mission.
