Forest land burnt
W Nongsiej, Range Officer, Soil & Water Conservation, Shillong lodged a complaint that on January 28 around 3.40 pm, unknown miscreants burnt the forest land belong to the department at Madan Umjar, Lynshing (EKH).

NGT violation
On January 27, North Garo Hills Police detected one truck (AS-01-GR-2921) driven by Mojuhur Ali transporting coal. Police arrested the driver.

Father stabs son
On January 27 circa 2 am, Bli Dkhar stabbed his son viz., Jeneros Ksoo with a knife in their residence at Kyndong Tuber (WJH), causing injuries to him. The victim was admitted at Dr. Norman Tunnel Hospital, Jowai. Police arrested the accused.

Minor falls off bridge, dies
Ebanhun K Bani lodged an FIR that on January 27 around 5 pm, while her step-son namely, John Wanbok K Bani (16) was riding bicycle, he fell down from a bridge at Ksehkohlong village (WKH). As a result, he sustained injuries and was shifted to NEIGRIHMS where he succumbed to his injuries.

Truck seized
On January 24, Jengjal Police detected one truck (AS-01-PC-4238) lying capsized at Anogre village (WGH). During enquiry, it transpired that the truck was illegally transporting timbers to unknown destination. Police seized the truck with fifty number of timbers.

Theft
On January 30, Mamta Chettri lodged a complaint that unknown miscreants broke into her residence at Pomlakrai (EKH) and stole cookery items, etc.
Santosh Kr. Singh of Blueberry Inn, Shillong lodged a complaint that on January 28 at about 8.30 pm, unknown miscreants broke into the hotel premises (Wards Lake Cafeteria) and stole cash box containing cash.
Sumitra Hajong lodged a complaint that on January 27 around 1.30 am, unknown miscreants stole her Mahindra Bolero vehicle (ML-08F-0656) from Beldapara village (WGH).
Abhinav Diwan lodged a complaint that on Jan. 21, unknown miscreants attempted to stole his vehicle parked at Madan Laban, Shillong.
